What is Rupashree Prakalpa?
Rupashree Prakalpa is a Government of West Bengal welfare scheme that provides a one-time financial grant of ₹25,000 to eligible economically disadvantaged families at the time of their adult daughter’s marriage. Effective from 1 April 2018, the scheme helps families meet marriage expenses without falling into debt traps.
Primary Purpose:To reduce the financial burden faced by economically disadvantaged families at the time of their daughter’s marriage and reduce dependence on high-interest commercial borrowing.

Sole-Holder Bank Account Requirement
The applicant bride must have an active bank account in which she is the sole account-holder. The official FAQ specifies that the bank account must support electronic payment through NEFT and contain valid banking identifiers (IFSC, MICR). Joint bank accounts are not eligible.
Application Timing Notice:
Applicants must submit the completed application along with all required proofs well before the date of the proposed marriage according to the official Rupashree guidelines to allow administrative verification and sanction.

- Applicant must have attained the age of 18 years on the date of application
- Applicant must be unmarried on the date of submitting the application
- The proposed marriage must be her first marriage
- Born in West Bengal OR resident for last 5 years OR parents are permanent residents of West Bengal
- Family annual income must not exceed ₹1.50 lakh (as certified under official FAQ)
- Prospective groom must have attained the age of 21 years on the date of application
- Active bank account in which the applicant is the sole account-holder (supports NEFT)
Not Eligible:
- Applicants below 18 years of age or prospective grooms below 21 years of age.
- Second or subsequent marriages for the applicant.
- Families with annual income exceeding ₹1.50 lakh.
- Joint bank accounts or bank accounts without valid electronic transfer support.

Download the official form from rupashree.wb.gov.in or obtain it from your local Block Development Office (BDO), Sub-Divisional Office (SDO), or Municipality.

Fill In Accurate Details
Complete all sections accurately: personal details, groom information, family income, residential history, and sole bank account details.

Attach Required Supporting Documents
