How the Current Benefit Changed
Earlier scheme rates were lower. According to the Government of West Bengal Budget Speech 2026–27, an additional ₹500 per month was provided from February 2026 for all women covered under Lakshmir Bhandar, raising the assistance to ₹2,500 per month for SC/ST households and ₹1,500 per month for other eligible households.
Important Distinction:
Do not rely on outdated ₹500 or ₹1,000 figures. The current 2026 rates are ₹2,500/month (SC/ST) and ₹1,500/month (Other eligible households).
