What is Khadya Sathi?
Khadya Sathi is a Government of West Bengal food-security initiative implemented through the Food & Supplies Department and the state’s public distribution system. Officially launched on 27 January 2016, it is designed to help eligible beneficiaries access essential foodgrains through ration-card based entitlements.
Primary Purpose:To provide food security and access to essential foodgrains through the West Bengal public distribution system on a ration-card entitlement basis.

Different ration-card categories have different foodgrain entitlements. Under the West Bengal PDS ecosystem, categories include Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), Priority Household (PHH), Special Priority Household (SPHH), Rajya Khadya Suraksha Yojana-I (RKSY-I), and Rajya Khadya Suraksha Yojana-II (RKSY-II).
