What is Yuvasree?
Yuvasree (also popularly known among citizens as Yuva Shakti or Yuva Shakti Prakalpa) is a financial assistance and employment-support scheme of the Government of West Bengal for unemployed youth. Implemented from October 2013 by the Labour Department (originally introduced as Yuva Utsaha Prakalpa), the scheme provides a monthly stipend of ₹1,500 to selected jobseekers registered in the Employment Bank to support their skill enhancement and preparation for employment or self-employment.
Primary Purpose:To provide financial assistance to unemployed youth and help improve their employability or prepare them for self-employment by upgrading their skills.

While the official Government of West Bengal scheme name is "Yuvasree", it is also widely known as "Yuva Shakti" or "Yuva Shakti Prakalpa" among jobseekers. Note that Yuvasree provides financial assistance and employability support; it is not a direct government job appointment.

The scheme was originally introduced as Yuva Utsaha Prakalpa (YUP) in 2013 and subsequently renamed Yuvasree by the Labour Department resolution on 18 September 2013, coming into effect on 1 October 2013.
