3. Step-by-Step Application Process

Identification via SECC / Awaas+ Baseline Survey

Eligible rural households are identified based on housing deprivation criteria during official government surveys.

Gram Sabha Scrutiny & Priority List Publication

The draft beneficiary list is scrutinized in the Gram Sabha. Ineligible names are weeded out and the Permanent Wait List is approved.

Geo-Tagging of Old Kutcha Site via AwaasApp

Gram Panchayat/block officials visit the site and capture geo-tagged photographs of the existing kutcha house before sanction.

Sanction Order & Stage-Wise DBT Installment Release

Sanction order is generated on AwaasSoft. Funds are transferred via DBT across 3 stages linked to plinth, lintel, and roof completion.

Final Completion Inspection & Utility Convergence

Final geo-tagged photograph is uploaded on AwaasSoft, followed by release of MGNREGA wages and convergence utilities.

4. After Applying & Status Tracking

Following submission, your application and submitted documents are verified by the designated block or department officials. Processing typically completes within 15 to 30 working days.

Important Warnings & Advice

•PMAY-G is a 100% government capital subsidy/grant for rural housing; it is NOT a home loan and requires no repayment.
•Inclusion in the Awaas+ survey or registration list does NOT automatically guarantee immediate house sanction.
•PMAY-G is strictly for RURAL areas; urban poor housing is covered separately under PMAY-Urban (PMAY-U).
•Every house must have a minimum floor area of 25 sq. metres including a dedicated hygienic kitchen space.
•All construction stages (foundation, lintel, roof, completion) require mandatory geo-tagged photo verification on AwaasApp.
